How to Fix Canon Printer Error Code 5b00?

The Canon printers are known to be one of the best printers on the market, recently with the adoption of the Continuous Ink System on several models, these Canon printers have more error message appearing.

These systems tend to push our printers to their very limits. Occasionally, continuous ink systems can cause small ink spills inside the printers, which can fill up the ink pads in it and create this error code 5B00. 

The error appears on the canon printers once the inkpad absorber has filled up with ink. If you are also experiencing the same issues with your Canon printer, you may want to consider resetting its ink counter. This can be done via a series of button presses. So, to resolve the Error Code 5b00, you need to follow the steps. 

Steps to Fix Canon Printer Error Code 5b00 :

Resetting the waste ink absorber on a Canon printer can resolve some error codes that appear when turning it on. Follow the below steps now to fix the error code 5b00.

Step 1:-Turn Off Printer   

Make sure the printer is turned off.

Step 2:- Hold the “Resume” Button

Then you need to press and hold the “Resume” button (triangle inside a circle).

Step 3:- Hold the “Power” Button

At the same time as it is held down, hold down the “Power” button. Then the green led light should come on.

Step 4:- Release the “Resume” Button

Keep the “Power” button held down. Release the “Resume” button and then press it twice. The light should go amber, then green again.

Step 5:- Release the “Power” Button

Now you need to release the “Power” button.

Step 6:- Reset Counter Absorber

Press the “Resume” button four times and then press the “Power” button straight after to confirm the selected action (Reset Counter Absorber).

Step 7:- Turn On Printer   

Then you have to turn off the printer and then turn it on again
